Andrzej Szwabe's MA project consists of three exhibitions concluding a narrative developed since 2022. The final installment opens with a performance titled "Graduation Recital."
Guided through a labyrinth of corridors, the audience passes a room with a piano and emerges from the inside of the installation into the main monastery space. There's a sitting area reserved for the audience. As the concert begins, the artist enters the piano room. From behind the wall, however, audience hears not a usual recital repertoire, but the sounds of repetitive, daily practice of a pianist.
For those who choose to leave their seats and glance back into the room, it becomes evident that the artist has long since departed; his place has been taken by a music student preparing for her own diploma. Upon leaving, the author left behind an open door, previously concealed within one of the walls. It leads to the exhibition's "backstage," where he has relocated all the belongings from his apartment, fulfilling a lifelong desire to live in a monastery.
